$2/gallon gas lures truckers

As diesel fuel costs reach unprecedented heights, Fleet management vendors have been extremely vocal lately on how their systems can help reduce fuel consumption for trucking companies. Reduced idle times, route tracking & optimization and reduced speeding are just some of the ways to combat fuel expenses. However, more and more we are hearing that smaller fleets are really being hit hard, and are now losing money and at risk of going out of business because of diesel costs. Here’s an example of how one fleet is fighting back… leveraging $2/gallon prices in Mexico.
